Meet the Senior Leadership Team


Joanne Kiernan (Interim Headteacher, BSc (Hons), PGCE, NPQH, Fellow ILM)

Joanne is a SEND specialist with over 20 years leadership experience in special schools in the UK.  Her role is to enable school improvement and achieve positive outcomes for the young people and families she works for.

Anna Owczarek (Assistant Headteacher)

Anna is a qualified teacher with many years' experience working with young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorders and other needs.  Anna coordinates the quality of education and learning at Hope House School ensuring that each young person has a highly engaging curriculum.  Anna also provides care and safety for young people by working with families and other professionals to put in place individual safety plans (Individual Pupil Risk Assessments and Behaviour Plans).  Alongside this work Anna is part of the safeguarding team and is completing her SENDCo training.

Shirley Turlukowsky (HR Manager)

Shirley is a HR specialist with wide ranging qualifications in leadership.  Her role at Hope House School is to support the staffing structure and operational leadership of the school.  Shirley provides ongoing coaching to staff leading on school improvement projects that enhance the quality of our provision and education. 

Andrew Stoddart (Interim Business Manager)

Andrew provides operational leadership to Hope House School across a range of its functions including finance, HR, project planning/implementation and Health & Safety.   Andrew has many years' experience within the business environment and ensures that the school has everything it needs to deliver the service it offers to its young people and families.

Meet the Middle Leadership Team

Lauren Taylor (Wellbeing and Learning Practitioner)

Lauren is a highly experienced leader of pupil wellbeing and mental health.  She is our designated person for medical conditions and distribution of medication.  Lauren has a wealth of qualifications in First Aid, Young Person's Mental Health First Aid and Restorative Practice.  Alongside the work she does with young people Lauren is also an integral part of the school safeguarding team and provides vast amounts of support to families across all our local authorities.
